4 JW Land Art
We started the day in the hall looking at examples of art in nature and the artists like Andy Goldsworthy. The children then worked together to draw around each other on card so that these could form the ring around the artwork.
Once we got to the beach the children were set to task immediately gathering interesting shells, stone, seaweed and driftwood and piling it all up in separate piles. After lunch the children were put in groups to either gather more equipment or begin the centre of the design.
Once the centre began to take shape the outline were put down for the children to draw around and fill in with their own groups design. We ended in a circle looking at our work and talking about what we had done and how.
