Barn Owl Visit
Somerset Wildlife Trust - Barn Owl visit
Chris from The Somerset Wildlife Trust came to visit with Bellatrix the barn owl. During an assembly, he told us about their habitat, food and things that can be done to keep them safe in the wild. The children were very excited about this, especially when Chris said that there was a webcam where the barn owls could be watched.
Chris then spend some time in with year 3 where he discussed the owls in more detail, including why they can't be stroked (because of the oil on their fur) and how long owls live.
The children loved their visit and since then, we have written thank you letters and kept up to date with the progress of the barn owls and babies on the webcam.
