Our trip was to Willows and Wetlands on Thursday 15th June 2017. We, first, watched a video about the production of willow. We then split into 2 groups. The first group enjoyed a tour of the museum learning about old fashioned machinery and the uses of willows. After that we watched a demonstration of stripping willow with both old machinery and new. We then looked at the willow drying out in the fields before having lunch. In the afternoon, we practised weaving with willow and drawing with charcoal. Finally, we made star wands out of willow.
