4CK
Welcome to 4CK!
Teachers: Mrs Kearley
LSA: Mrs Symes
We have had a fabulous start to the Autumn term and the children have adjusted well into life in Year 4.
Here is some information that you may find useful:
PE
Year 4 have their PE lessons on a Thursday and a Friday so please can the children come into school in their PE kit on those days and will remain in them for the rest of the day.
Spellings
At the beginning of each half term the children are given a list of the spellings they will be learning each week. The children are encouraged to try different ways and find what works best for them.
The children have their spelling test every Thursday.
Here are a range of ideas that children can use to practise their spellings at home:
Times tables
By the end of year 4, children are expected to know all of their times tables up to 12x12. We practise times tables as often as we can in school. The children are expected to practise their times tables each week at home as part of their homework.
Here are some of the ways they could be practised at home:

The Children have their times tables test every Thursday.
Reading
We have a reading programme called Accelerated Reader. The children now all have a reading book to bring home along with their reading record. Once the children have read their book they take a short online quiz in school. This gages whether they are ready to move onto the next level. Reading is such an important skill please listen to your child read at home where possible.
