Welcome to 6KR
Teacher: Miss Rigden
LSA: Miss Newbury
What are we learning in the Autumn Term?
In maths, we will be working on place value, addition and subtraction and multiplication and division.
In English, we will be writing a story based on old black and white films. Each week, we will also have a 'word of the week' that we will study and practise using in context. In our reading lessons, we will be recapping key skills such as skimming and scanning and making margin notes.
If you have any questions, queries or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me via the school office or Class Dojo.

How can I support my child's learning at home?
- Hegarty Maths homework
- Times tables practice
- Reading every night
The children at Hamp Academy have access to the library daily and are able to pick books from our Accelerated Reader range to read and then take quizzes on. Accelerated Reader gives children and teachers feedback based on the quiz results.
The children will be set maths homework on the Hegarty Maths website every week.
- Hegarty maths is a collection of excellent video resources. Students should watch the video and make notes.
- The video will set questions at certain points and students should pause the video and then attempt those questions.
- After watching the video, students can then attempt the tasks. You can still use the video and the video itself has a model similar to the questions asked.

The children can practise their times tables at home using TT Rockstars. Please contact me on Class Dojo if your child has forgotten their sign in details.
The children are expected to read for at least 20 minutes every day.
6KR have PE every Monday and Wednesday.
