7ES

Welcome to 7ES - The Hub Class

Class Teacher: Mrs Snow

LSA: Mrs Higgins

LSA: Mrs Webb

In 7ES, we recognise that every child is unique. The Hub class was created to provide a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment for children with a wide range of needs. Our approach is rooted in compassion and respect, celebrating each child's individuality while supporting their personal growth.

Children in 7ES come from various Key Stage 2 year groups and either have, or are in the process of receiving, an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP). These plans guide us in designing a personalised curriculum that is tailored to each child's academic and social-emotional needs.

We work closely with the school SENCO, external agencies and families to ensure that every child feels seen, supported, and empowered to thrive.

Spring 26ii

English

This half term, we will be diving into 'Clod Tea Monkeys' by Mal Peet and Elspeth Graham - a beautifully crafted story filled with rich imagery, warmth, and a sense of wonder. The book inspires children to use their imagination, ask questions, and explore new ideas through its magical storytelling and vivid language. Alongside this, we will continue to build fluency and confidence through targeted interventions such as Dyslexia Gold and Toe by Toe, ensuring every child can access and enjoy the text as a pace that suits their needs.

Maths

This half term, we will be developing our understanding of multiplication and division, exploring different strategies to help children work confidently with numbers. We will also be applying these skills to solve a range of mathematical problems, encouraging learners to think logically, explain their reasoning, and choose efficient methods. Through practical activities, guided practice, and targeted support, we aim to build secure foundations and strengthen every child's confidence in maths learning.

Science

Children will be learning about Animals including Humans. They will name and classify different animal groups, explore whether animals are carnivores, herbivores, or omnivores, and identify key body parts and their functions. We will also investigate the human skeleton, learning how it supports and protects the body, and compare it with the skeletons of other animals. Through practical tasks, observations, and engaging activities, children will deepen their understanding of how animals move, grow, and survive.

PE

Children in 7ES have PE on Tuesdays and Fridays. On these days, they should arrive at school wearing their PE kits, which they will stay in for the whole day.

Homework

We encourage regular reading at home, as well as engagement in Precision activities, TT Rock Stars, Doodle Maths, Purple Mash, and everyday life-skill activities to support children's development and independence,
